Ah, the days of the last Presidential campaign. Here is a video of Obama ridiculing Mitt Romney on the issue of Russia being a geopolitical danger, including to the United States. Just click and watch our clueless President on this topic: http://www.ijreview.com/2014/03/118668-remember-obama-mocking-romney-foreign-policy-question-2012-campaign/.
Our know-it-all President looks a little silly right now, and our nation looks even sillier at the moment as this dangerous moment in history continues to lurch forward. The European Union is hesitating about doing anything, which is about par for the course with them on issues such as this. Our President Obama adores European thinking on all matters, including domestic issues.
Speaking of silly, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) claims that opponents of Obama are advocating military action against Russia. Senator Durbin names no names, has no quotes, no evidence for this reckless statement. Ah, Democrats! When pinned against the wall by their own actions, they immediate blame everyone else!
As Obama now intones that Russia is on "the wrong side of history" let's pause for a moment and ask what his legacy will be in the future? It will show that President Obama consistently was on the "wrong side of history" in foreign policy.
In the past few weeks, he has pressured Israel to weaken their hardline stance against Palestinians who have never accepted the Israeli State and want to see it destroyed. He has worked hard against imposing harsher sanctions against ever belligerent Iran. He has botched the "Arab Spring" uprisings in the Middle East. Egypt and Syria remain powder kegs.
Congressman Schneider has supported President Obama without reservation. Any statements to make about our feckless foreign policy and an belligerent and opportunistic Russia that is seizing the advantage by our Congressman? Don't hold your breaths waiting.
Time to take those rose colored glasses off.
