Preliminary Injunction Granted in Lake County Elections Controversy

I'm on the road so I am attempting to post this using my I-Phone. Don't worry, I pulled over before typing.

Judge David Akemann today granted a preliminary injunction sought by the County of Lake, stopping in its tracks the creation of the unasked for and unwanted Lake County Board of Elections, including the appointment of commissioners. The deadline for application for commissioner was yesterday.  The judge indicated that the County had a more than reasonable likelihood of success on the merits of their suit, which claimed that portion of the recently enacted "election reforms" to be unconstitutionally singling out Lake County.

There will be appeals and more motions down the road.
