Today, I am reprinting an entire article from a good friend and former law school mate of mine, Russ Stewart. Russ has been writing a political column for a local paper on the North and Northwest Side of Chicago since our law school days, or well over 35 years. His columns primarily feature the local antics of local Democratic machine politicians. He has deservedly won several awards over the years for his commentary. His website address is printed below where years of his columns can be accessed and read.
His latest column features some classic behavior of what national politicians and political commentators call "The Chicago Way" of Democratic politics. While those commentators remain clueless, a reading of Russ' work shows how "The Chicago Way" works, the consequences of such behavior and how it affects us all. It makes for fascinating reading.
The Chicago Media has been conducting a massive lovefest of retiring Alderman Dick Mell these past few days. Stewart has written an article showing that media love is clearly misplaced.
