Former Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10) has just formally reported in a formal press release his fundraising numbers for the second quarter of 2013:
- Total Contributions: $546,187.00
- Total Cash on Hand: $615,772.00
What makes these impressive numbers even more impressive is that Dold announced that he wished to run for office on May 8, 2013. The second quarter ended 53 days later on June 30, 2013, meaning he has been raising money at a $10,000 a day clip or a period of 7.5 weeks, or only during 58% of the second quarter. 93% of those funds came from individual Illinois donors.
Prior to his announcement, Dold had not raised any funds in 2013. Dold has been extensively traveling the district since his announcement and his determination to regain this seat has been shown during these appearances. The impressive fundraising corroborates those impressions of Dold.
We await Congressman Schneider's report, which has not been filed as of this posting.
