Progress Illinois Contradicts Schneider's Portrayal of Congressman Robert Dold

I'm not a fan of "Progress Illinois," an extremely left wing website that routinely leans to supporting Democrats and slanting their news articles in the favor of that party. Progress Illinois is heavily funded and supported by union money.  Remember, "Progress" is the new word for "Liberal." Many of their articles routinely demand that governments continue to wildly spend money they do not have, so that public union members receive their salaries and benefits. Their solution to massive Federal and State red ink is higher taxes.

Yesterday, Progress Illinois in an article stunningly admitted flat out that Congressman Dold is not a member of the Tea Party and does not favor drilling for oil in Lake Michigan.  They printed a sputtering e-mail response from Schneider which basically said "but he (Dold) is still a Republican."  Pretty observant there, Brad! They then proceeded to try to pick apart the Dold voting record, and clearly struggled at times to make that voting record fit in with their predisposition against Dold.

You can also see a shift in negative advertising from the Schneider camp.  The "Oh My Gosh Robert Dold is a Rabid Right Winger Tea Party Member/Supporter Who is Anti-Environment, Women, Families, and Your Little Dogs Too!" advertising has come under heavy criticism from every major newspaper in this area.

The voters of the 10th Congressional District are smart enough to see through that nonsense.

So the new attack is "Robert Dold is a Republican".  This coming from a candidate who promised to work with the other side of the aisle and be non-partisan, all the while of course, 100% supporting Democratic policies and views.  This coming from a candidate who refuses to be transparent about who  he is, about his "business" and refuses to release his tax returns.

All those unresolved contradictions coming from Schneider with the election a mere 18 days away, with the start of mail balloting, and with early voting starting this Monday.  Makes you wonder about the guy.

  1. I have said it before, but it bears repeating. Bob's opponent has appropriate initials:
    Bravo Sierra.

Just like at the presidential campaign level, if you don't have a record to run on, you attack and mislead and attack more. B.S. has nothing to run on so he tries to paint Bob Dold as negatively as possible.

Bob Dold has a good record to run on and deserves re-election.
