Schneider Would Borrow Money All Day Long

We have to remember that President Obama didn't manage to bury our country in an additional $5+ trillion in debt all by himself.  He had plenty of help from certain members of Congress holding seats on his side of the aisle.

The Illinois Republican Party has come out with a new video about "Progressive" (spelled: L-I-B-E-R-A-L) Brad Schneider's positions on our national debt and on how he would "borrow money all day long" to get us out of our current economic malaise.  Makes you wonder, as the CEO of Cadence Consulting Group, LLC, which assists multimillion dollar corporations to expand and grow, does he advise his clients to "borrow all day long" or is that philosophy of his just limited to government?

  1. How about some basic honesty, Lou? You filled in the reason Mr. Schneider would borrow money, but it isn't on the tape, is it? Maybe he was saying he would borrow money to save a dying child, or to defend our country. You wouldn't? Bush borrowed money all day long to start two wars, which is why we have most of the current national debt, remember?

  2. Anon 7:38: If you are looking for what you call "basic honesty" then try not to pretend that Bush borrowed all that money by himself to fight the two wars. Pretending that the majority of Democrats in Congress did not favor these wars at the time and the method of borrowing to pay for them isn't very becoming. And the "maybe" guesses you are tendering include defending our country? Then why bring up Bush and two wars? If you disagree with Afghanistan, then I guess you disagree with Obama's ramping up the war effort over there as well.

Those words came out of Brad Schneider's mouth and are on tape. Words recently came out of Mitt Romney's mouth about 47% and I didn't hear you complaining. Words came out of Obama's mouth (Redistribution and You Didn't Build That) that were also immortalized on tape.

Mr. Schneider is running for public office. He needs to own up to what he said, just like Romney, Obama and others running for or holding public office have to do. How's that for basic honesty?

  3. Falls short, Lou. You didn't address the basic problem, that your comment on what Brad said is not what the tape records Brad as having said. It's just something you made up.

  4. Let me just say that I was at that forum and he DID say he would borrow money all day long, and not to save a dying child. He was talking about government projects. I dont really care what the excuse, I dont want somebody representing me in Congress who will "borrow money all day long" under any circumstances.

  7. The full quote is "I would borrow money all day long if the cost of borrowing is less than the expected return." A more complete video clip is available on Suntimes website.
